Hockey in a Small City profiled Jennifer Durr's photography of the Estevan Bruins. In addition to the sports-page action shots associated with hockey, Durr's work provides a glimpse into the emotional side of the sport, the team, and their fans. The selected photographs range from capturing the speed and frenetic intensity of the game, to the beauty of the ice, touching moments, and images of celebration and pride. As both sports documentarian and witness to the human experience of a live hockey game, Durr's work serves to examine a very local national obsession. This exhibition was produced in conjunction with Saskatchewan Prairie Light Photography Festival, Canada's first province-wide photography event. Curated by Alex King
